It's such a sweet post with all the legwork done on the new uploads. I get the feeling most everyone who comes here has bookmarked that post.

One of the new uploads is the 8/24/85 Boreal Ridge show. Highly touted as one of the worst shows ever. I believe it has the worst press of any Dead show outside of a '94 or '95 show.

One reviewer summed that show up as "fairly hard suckage."

Hey AJ, if you have looked over them, perhaps you can answer--are most of them just "replacements" of shows that were already on the archive? Just curious as to whether it was an indication that some entirely "new" (ie, previously unavailable) shows were now available...

Most of the newly uploaded shows I've looked at seem to already have been available, but quite a few of them have been redone by Charlie Miller. Judging by the other shows he's done that I've listened to, I would consider them to be an upgrade.
I haven't listened to any of the new 80's shows yet, so I really can't tell you for sure.
I've had a lot of 72-74 and Jerry discs kindly dropped in my lap lately and they've been taking up my listening time.

I did spend about a day downloading this show.

The files are huge and it took a long time. When I converted them to playable files, it wouldn't play them. I couldn't burn them either, and it kept shutting down my Real player and my Windows player. It was odd, I don't know if it's the files or what.

AJ ... those files that you downloaded are 24 bit and are meant for burning to DVD audio; you can play them on your computer as .wav files if you have a soundcard that can play 24 bit, but if you want to burn to CD or convert to .mp3 for a portable player such as an ipod, probably best that you download the files from this link:

Well that explains a lot. After I wasn't able to burn those files I downloaded the other source.

So if they ever get the files up for this show, it would be the same 24 bit thing?

So far there is no other copy of this available.

Edit: Actually this a SBD show so there will never be any files to download. Damn.

Thanks guys...figured as much. Was just curious, and appreciate you getting back to me on it, Arb.

Of course, what I am hoping for is that one day someone supplies Charlie Miller with a dozen heretofore uncirculating shows from 68!

WT ... i think you asked this before, meant to get back to you on this; the recently added shows are actually new transfers or newer sources, or previously uncirculated sources, not replacements per se, except perhaps in the sense that one might be an upgrade over what previously circulated, i.e., the 10/12-13/68 shows as done by C.M., which will eventually find their way to the LMA

as for the list i put together, it is already horribly out-of-date, even now a mere few days later; dozens of shows have been added since then, and more and more every day, it's really hard to keep track; however, this link will help some, though it's not ordered by show date, but rather by most recently uploaded
